Recent, Current and Future Fundraising
RECENT
The Basketball Courts at Louis Riel School were completely removed and replaced! The court surface was upgraded to a Plexipave and six new basketball poles, backboards and hoops were be installed, and lines painted to outline a full court and two half courts.
COMPLETED: 2023
CURRENT
The Learning Commons is our current project. The school will be doing some renovations and the Parent Society is looking at fundraising for the furniture, books and other additions that will serve the student body. To date, we have provided dollars to be used to buy books and are working with the school administration to build the budget for the project. We are also planning a donated book drive and sale to raise additional funds. PROJECT COMPLETION PLAN: 2024
LOOKING FORWARD:
The upper playground needs some love and attention - maybe even replacement or expansion.
The ground cover at both playgrounds would be so much more inviting (and less dusty) if we replaced it with a rubberized outdoor flooring.
The school interior could use a refresh - maybe some murals or other art installations to update all the spaces!
Book Drive Donation Drive
Planned for spring 2024 we will be reaching out to get books donated that will be sold at a book fair jumble sale. All the proceeds will be used for the purchase of new books for the learning commons. Stay tuned for more information!
