These committee are small groups who meet fairly regularly outside of the school, to share the workload and have fun at the same time.

This group will organize events throughout the year, like the Spring Dance. You won’t be in charge of the whole thing, but you would be leading the group.

This position coordinates with all fundraising chairs to keep a list of all fundraising activities, and keep our website up to date.

Communications Committee
This group meets once in a while to refine our messaging and brand. Graphic designers and marketing people are ideal for this group. Multiple languages are needed!

Naturalization Area Committee
Looks after arranging tree, shrub and garden maintenance each year for the naturalization area at the back of the school. Always need help each year with a refresh and summer up-keep. If you have green thumb and want to help out we are always looking for extra hands and shovels!

Financial Audit Committee
This one-day position works with the Treasurer to audit the council’s year-end financial statements. No financial skills required.

Fun Lunch Coordinator
This position is responsible for coordinating with food vendors, insuring all deliveries get to the classroom, and coordinate volunteers on the day. This position will also take questions from parents about the event.

Grandparent Program Coordinator
Louis’ Grandparent Program puts ‘mature’ volunteers into elementary grade classrooms, to help with reading, math and special projects. The program coordinator pairs volunteers with teachers and helps manage those relationships as necessary. They also coordinate the once-a-week Grandparent Program coffee break that we provide, including overseeing delivery (often by other volunteers) of a light snack, stocking the grandparent cupboard with coffee and tea and (optionally) visiting with the program volunteers.
½ – 1 hour/week

Casino Coordinator
This position is responsible for ensuring all forms are completed and submitted to AGLC in a timely manner. They also arrange for volunteers for the casino, coordinate with the casino advisors and casino management.

Speaker Series Coordinator
Talk to other parents while your waiting for pickup, and find out what they would like to learn about. Then work together to seek out appropriate speakers and arrange the event with support from school admin. The rest of the team will help you with advertising, collecting donations, and collect valuable feedback to and evaluating and plan the next session.
½ – 1 hour/week.
